The Chairman of Mahtani Group of Companies, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has confirmed a deal with the Sunbird Group worth USD $ 150 which will bring prosperity to the Luapula Province. According to the deal, the province of Luapula will be facilitated with a bio-ethanol plant; cassava, a commonly found crop in Luapula region will be used as a raw material.
The initial progress of the plant will begin in November 2015 and the plant will create a direct employment for 2, 000 workers. On the other hand, additional employment of another 5, 000 workers will be made through indirect means. A local resident of Luapula comments, “We are obliged to Dr. Rajan Mahtani for this decision to setup a plant in our region. Over the years, we have constantly faced issues relating to unemployment, poverty and lack of infrastructure developments. With this upcoming plant, we will manage to overcome our biggest problem- Unemployment.”
The statement clearly indicates the level of trust that the locals have on the Chairman of Mahtani Group of Companies, Dr. Rajan Mahtani. From the perspective of development, Luapula will now have a bio-ethanol plant where locals will find employment. Moreover, development of this plant will also result in development of ancillary industries and supplies.
To sum it up, one can regard that Dr. Rajan Mahtani has once again proved his potential by making a deal which offers employment to thousands of Africans. Life in the Luapula province was getting tougher for the local, but this gift from Dr. Rajan Mahtani has definitely offered them a new path. The conspirators may, once again, come up with an imaginative story, but what matters as of now is the development of our motherland- Africa and its citizens.
