Luapula Province has been one of those areas in Zambia, where the pace of development is almost next to nil. The locals find it hard to survive and make a contribution towards the development of the nation. Under such circumstance, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has come up with a plan to aid the requirements of the locals and plan a channel of developments in Luapula Province through setting up a bio-ethanol plant. The plant will generate employment for the locals and will aid the output from the region. The project is being developed at a cost of USD 190 million and will be financed by Sunbird Group and the Mahtani Group of Companies, jointly.
