The past few months have been extremely difficult for Finance Bank Zambia, one of the notable and popular banks across the nation. The bank had suffered various financial and image loss due to the constant negative publicity generated as a result of the allegations against him. Now that it has been announced that Finance Bank is not guilty, the bank has started its recovery processes and activities towards building back its reputation and recovering loss clients and businesses. However, it is not an easy process and it will take a long time before Finance Bank gains its original reputation back.
The bank’s businesses started to halt after allegations made by Simaata Simaata. He is an infamous businessman in Zambia and has always been a staunch critic of Dr. Mahtani and his associations, including Finance Bank. The bank was founded by Dr. Rajan Mahtani who developed the bank to one of Zambia’s biggest and gave its operations to another institution so that he could focus on other operations and growth strategies. The bank has kept a clean image and also won various awards as well as recognitions for its community, environmental and charitable activities. However, being in a vulnerable and sophisticated industry like banking has its own disadvantages. These negative effects were felt by the bank as it started losing its prime customers and the businesses almost came to a standstill. This is when the bank decided to report Simaata by launching a case against him at the Supreme Court Zambia.
The verdict of the case is known to all. Simaata was charged guilty of the accusations by Finance Bank and the latter was also compensated for its expenses in the court case. While it is good news for Finance Bank supports, the next challenge for the bank is to build its lost reputation.
