How heartbroken one feels when someone close breaks the trust for personal gains. A similar incident happened with Dr. Mahtani and Finance Bank when the Ventriglias started their defamation campaign against Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani with a view to take over the Portland Cement Zambia. According to a recent Official Document presented on 1 April 2016, it has been proved that the Ventriglia family lacked finance to establish a cement plant in Ndola and as a result took financial assistance from Finsbury Investment with a view to shape their business idea. The result was that Dr. Rajan Mahtani agreed to help them raise USD 24 million to build Portland Cement Zambia. Apart from this arrangement, the agreement of share was also made where Finsbury Investment would hold 58% of the shares and Ital Terrazzo Limited was entitled to receive 42% of the total shares.

Within the first few years, everything took place in routine. However, some years later it started to float that Dr. Mahtani and Finance Bank had forged signatures to take over the Portland Cement Zambia’s ownership. To make things more complicated, the Ventriglia family started to take assistance from the infamous news channel Zambia Reports and started the defamation campaign. This is where things started to get ugly and finally the Government under Michael Sata had to deport the minority shareholders of the Zambezi Portland Cement Factory.

Over the past few years, the Ventriglias have once again come back to Zambia after the new President, Edgar Lungu, was appointed. At the moment, every day or the other, there is a defamatory article in the name of Dr. Mahtani and Finance Bank. This has made the situation worse and the locals tend to misled with every single publication of ZR. Nevertheless, the legal system in Zambia has upheld its sovereignty and continues to be unbiased.
