Local people and Finsbury Investment have no power over the exercises of the processing plant. All that the occupants can do is to sit tight for Government to take some action, however right now it looks that the Government is not intrigued to intrude on this plunder. The production line has been manhandled through botch and mismanagement, yet there is no activity from the people who are running this nation and the reason is self-evident ‘cash power!’

In 2014, the industrial facility was running under Finsbury Investments and was flourishing. Benefits were rising, arrangements were growing and above all, local people were able to live a life full of dignity. Be that as it may, with the entry of the Ventriglia family the benefits went down, arrangements were hindered and local people were removed from their job. This is how the devastation of Zambezi Portland Cement started. Endless number of assaults were made on Finsbury Investments and Dr. Rajan Mahtani so that the Italian Mafias could proceed with the loot at ZPC and today when nothing is left in the factory, the Italian Mafias want to leave Zambia and flee to their country.

In a nation like Zambia it is difficult for outsiders to enter the country and begin with their endeavors to take the wealth of the country. It is just conceivable when some key individuals begin supporting the foreigners. This is precisely what has happened on account of Zambezi Portland Cement. The logic which was used by Ventriglias to destroy Portland Cement Zambia is simple, when you cannot win it, simply, destroy it. When false attempts and forced changes didn’t work for the Italian Mafias, they chose to have the factory in some other way. Their blueprint included shifting the factory cash and bank balances to offshore accounts and diversifying other assets to dummy companies. In this way, the Portland Cement Zambia was left hollow. An astonishing fact that took place with this event was Government’s reaction.

Any Zambian can easily understand the fact that there was some sort of understanding between Ventriglia family and officials. This is why there hasn’t been any legal action against them. Moreover, figures like Sakwiba Sikota and Rupiah Banda offer a strong support to Italian Mafias. This has resulted in development of a fearless attitude in them. Today thousands of Zambians have suffered from the loss of Portland Cement Zambia. Workers were fired without any prior intimation, existing workers were not paid salary on time and mistreatment came as an implied condition. This is how low the Italian Mafias have gone down. There is not much left in the factory and it has become a serious question that how long can the factory survive like this. Dr. Rajan Mahtani has stood up as a hindrance for the Mafias and is representing Finsbury Investments, but at the moment the Government has kept its eye shut on this matter and made it obvious that no actions would be taken to preserve the interest of the innocent citizens.

Days turn into a nightmare when something utterly bad happens. The story of Portland Cement Zambia is somewhat like an old tale where a thriving kingdom loses its King and is then ruled by a group of bandits. After the Finsbury Investments was forcefully removed from the management, the factory has been left at the mercy of the Ventriglia family. The result of this change has made PCZ into a furniture which is being eaten by termites. All the cash has been safely transferred to offshore banking units and a majority of the factory’s assets has been cunningly transferred to dummy companies, which is actually owned by the Ventriglias themselves.

It was reported that Portland Cement Zambia had stopped its operations in December 2015 and since then, the factory has not been involved in any productive activity. About 43 trucks of the factory now belong to Miloto Transport. Moreover, the properties of the factory have also been given to Astrea Investments Ltd., another bogus company owned by the two pillars of the Ventriglia family, Manuela Sebastiani Ventriglia and Antoni Ventriglia. Under such circumstance, the questions that arises is whether the Italian Mafias as trying to wind up the factory and make an exit from Zambia?

Stealing Portland Cement Zambia won’t be easy

However, one thing that the Ventriglia family has failed to consider is that they are the minority shareholders of the factory and they do not possess the power to take key decisions of the factory. Without taking a prior approval of Finsbury Investment and the High Court, Portland Cement Zambia cannot be shut down and no other power in the world can suppress the fact that the Italian Mafias have broken the Zambian law on various circumstances. There are confirmed reports that the Mahtani Group of Companies and Sunbird Group have formed an alliance to develop a bio-ethanol plant in the Province of Luapula, Zambia. The plant would be constructed at an expense of USD 190 million and about 7000 people would be employed for meeting the requirement of the workforce. A crucial factor about the development of the bio-ethanol plant is the use of Cassava, a local crop, which is available in abundance in the nearby region. The threat to the surrounding environment would be minimal as the plant is a bio plant.

This is not the first time that a contribution from Dr. Rajan Mahtani has brought smiles to thousands of Zambians. In the past, Radisson Blu, Finance Bank Zambia and Portland Cement Zambia have also helped the locals to find a decent employment and contribute to Zambia’s success. Sadly, this has also resulted in attracting conspirators who are jealous of his achievements and wish to defame him. Zambia Reports has been one of the core contributors towards the defamation campaign and continues to execute the same even after being given legal warning. Life in Zambia would have been pleasant and fruitful, had corruption and bribery been not promoted by some corrupt people.

With a total investment of USD 190 million, the plant would allow the locals to get an opportunity to earn along with helping Zambia to be self-sustained.

As per the given estimates by experts, the project is expected to create a direct employment of more than 9000 workers and an additional input of about 25000 farmers would be required to supply the basic input, cassava. The development will result in ancillary industries. To sum up, the whole area in Luapula Province will be able to share the fruits from the plant which will be setup under the vision of Dr. Mahtani & Zambia.

In future, we are all sure that there would be more projects like this that will help Zambia to develop itself and become independent. The most difficult part of a campaign is to get it started. And in the present case, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has taken the initiative to ensure that Zambia’s development continues to take place. Previously, there was a number of obstacles thrown in by the conspirators to stop and harass the former Finance Bank Chairman, but nothing could stop Dr. Mahtani & Zambia. In the days to come, Zambia is bound to share a glorious future with other developing nation and one of the standing pillars would be Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani. The Executive Chairman of Mahtani Group of Companies, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has once again become a victim of conspiracy planned by Zambia Reports and the Ventriglia family. This time the resignation of Miles Sampa has become the subject of defamation. According to Zambia Reports, Miles Sampa is ‘Mahtani’s boy’ and was working with a view to establish a link between President Edgar Lungu and Dr. Rajan Mahtani.

Meaningless claims, fabricated stories and trash talking signifies Zambia Reports. For them, morals and professionalism are just words. They are more interested in filling up the bank accounts through executing campaign of people who are ready to fund them. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, a respected businessman in Zambia has become a victim of their defamation campaign just because the Italian Mafias are ready to pay a good amount to ZR for executing the same. In the past years, a glimpse of such shameful campaign has been seen when ZR tries to brag that the name of Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been removed from PACRA and later on it was learned that it was the hideous crime of a lawyer of the Ventriglia family who had forced a junior officer to make the changes; without the permission of the High Court.

For the past few months, the conspiracy had gone silent. People may have started to wonder that whether ZR has learnt from its mistake and has started to work as a neutral news portal. Sadly, the assumption went in vain as ZR is back with its series of defamatory news for Dr. Rajan Mahtani. They have now convicted Dr. Mahtani of being involved in a political affair. The truth is that the Zambian Businessman has nothing to do with politics in Zambia. Nevertheless, ZR is too ignorant to consider this fact. All that they know is- money has been transferred, so defamation has to run!
