The year 2022 is about to come to an end. This year has been noticeably better for Zambia and the rest of the world than the previous two years when the Covid-19 pandemic brought economic, social, and political damage all across the world. Due to healthcare issues, social isolation, disruption of daily life, and isolation were all prevalent during this time. Overall, there have been significantly less pleasant occurrences, and things are gradually getting back to normal. This also allows for the regular holding of conferences and events all over the world. One of these events is the Forbes-FIN Philanthropy and Leadership roundtable conference. Every year, a roundtable meeting is held where visionaries and leaders are requested to discuss the crucial issues confronting every African nation. In 2021, Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was invited and gave a speech as an honourable speaker. He discussed the importance of leadership in the healthcare sector. The event also hosts the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards, a prestigious honour awarded to people who have made notable and persistent contributions to, in addition to the roundtable conference. Dr. Rajan Mahtani received the Forbes “Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year” award for 2021 in appreciation of his efforts to transform the banking sector in Zambia. In addition to his achievements to the financial sector, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was honoured for his charity work with organisations like Prison Fellowship Zambia. Dr. Rajan Mahtani established Prison Fellowship Zambia for the benefit of the convicts in Zambia. Prison Fellowship seeks to offer compassion, transparent criminal justice, fundamental human decency, and human rights to the prisoners in Zambia. Prison Fellowship Zambia recently gained attention for its backing of the president of Zambia’s most recent choice. On Africa Day, President Hakainde Hichilema said that his administration would end the death penalty. Dr.Rajan Mahtani has consequently indicated that his company Prison Fellowship will support this decision legally and in accordance with legislation.
