In a claim which has been turned down by the Court on May 19, 2016 it has been learnt that the Honourable Judge Flavia Chishimba found the present condition of Portland Cement Zambia under dispute of ownership. As per her verdict, it was suggested that liquidation of PCZ is only possible where the ownership of the factory is decided and the decade long questions is finally answered.

Since 2008, Ital Terrazzo Limited has been busy claiming that Finsbury Investment stole 58% of the shares through forgery and the remaining 42% already belongs to them. The claim has already been settled in 2012 judgement where Lusaka High Court decided that the shareholding pattern was legitimate. Even PACRA has the same information stored in its register. Still, the concussion at the present date ensured that the liquidator is not appointed.

On the other hand, it is the Ventriglia family who has played games after games with the judicial system of Zambia. Recently they created nuermous bogus companies out of which Miloto Transport and Astrea Investments were two of the most prominent ones. Around 43 trucks from Portland Cement Zambia have been shifted to Miloto transport and the title deeds of the factory have been leased to Astrea Investments. The confidence of the Ventriglia family was such that they have confessed about the same in open as well.

The bottom line of this discussion is to give a thought to the range of events which goes around Zambia. On one hand, a company fails to secure the permission to appoint a liquidator, given all documents are authentic and on the other hand, there are people who are fearless about their actions and are claiming their illegal activities with pride. The Ventriglia family, or more commonly known as the Ndolan Mafias have once again made a comeback in the defamation campaign with the aid of Zambia Reports. According to the latest publication of ZR, they are celebrating a win as Court has refused to honor the appeal of Dr. Rajan Mahtani in respect of illegal takeover by the Ventriglia family in April. The article is as usual misleading and makes a desperate attempt to draw the attention of the audience.

There are certain things worth noticing in the publication. In the first place, it has been said that the Ventriglias shall continue to have control over the factory. Secondly, the writer once again cries about the forgery issue and thirdly, the article claims that Dr. Rajan Mahtani will not have control over Zambezi Portland Cement.

Now let’s take a look at those points independently. The first claim hardly matter as the factory has stopped its operations since December 2015. So what are the Ventriglias operating at the moment? In the second place, the writer has continued with his habit of making claims that have already been settled and decided by the Court in the past. And the last claim is the worst of all. Dr. Rajan Mahtani has never controlled Zambezi Portland Cement factory. It is Finsbury Investments who has been controlling the affairs in the factory and Dr. Mahtani is just a part of it.

The authors of Zambia Reports have lost their sanity and morals infront of the cash which is being offered by the Ventriglias. They have clearly missed the line and have simply created a PR article which looks forward to defame Dr. Rajan Mahtani. On one hand, the Italian Mafias are looting the resource of the nation and on the other hand, there are some people who are helping these Mafias to drown their own brothers.

Dr. Rajan Mahtani has often been portrayed as a controversial figure in Zambia. With most of the credit for defamation going to Zambia Reports and the Ventriglia family, the conspirators have constantly tried to ensure that Zambia remains misled. The truth about Dr. Rajan Mahtani is known to all- he is a respected businessman in Zambia and the Executive Chairman of MCG (Mahtani Group of Companies). However, there are numerous other information as well which has remained hidden from the world. Here are few in sight.

Dr. Rajan Mahtani took over an expanding business from his father and continued to work for the development of Zambia. It was during this time that the family friends, Ventriglias, decided to take help from Dr. Mahtani in respect of raising funds for establishing a new cement plant in the region of Ndola. Without the consent of Dr. Mahtani, it would have been impossible for ITL (Ital Terrazzo Limited.) to raise a fund which was almost USD 25 Million.

Another lesser known fact about Dr. Rajan Mahtani is that he possesses exceptional skills of patience. Today, when the conspirators are constantly making a nuisance in his name, he is patiently waiting for the legal system of Zambia to make its judgement. He has neither resorted to hiring paid media to counter attack the claims, nor is he threatening anybody to withdraw the claim. All that he has done is kept faith in the legal system and worked towards the development of the nation. May it be Portland Cement Zambia or Finance Bank of Zambia, his contribution will always be remembered as one of the biggest.

The former Finance Bank Chairman, Rajan Mahtani, has been falsely dragged into conspiracy by Zambia Reports, Sakwiba Sikota and most importantly the Ventriglia family. After the official documents were revealed for public display, it was learnt that it is not Rajan Mahtani who is at fault, but it is the Ventriglia family who have backstabbed the Chairman of Mahtani Group of Companies for their greed of money. The document clearly indicates that the ownership pattern of the cement plant would remain as 58% and 42% for FI and ITZ. But later on, it was the fabrication and false claim by the Italian Mafias that portrayed Rajan Mahtani as a controversial figure.

Once upon a time, Rajan Mahtani and Antonio Ventriglia were good family friends and it was the consent of Dr. Mahtani which made it possible for the world to have a unit like Portland Cement Zambia. A sum of US $ 24 million was raised only because investors believed in Rajan Mahtani. Had he refused to take part in development, the factory would have not existed today.

In the past, Portland Cement Zambia able to outplay even the cement giant, LaFarge, with its impressive production rate and pricing policy. Sadly, in April 2015 the Ventriglia family returned and took over the premise of PCZ. Till date, the premise remains in the hands of the Ventriglia family and internal sources suggest that they have converted the facility into a non-operating unit. There is nothing much left in the factory except for misery.

The Portland Cement Zambia has witnessed one of the most horrific situation in recent times when Ventriglia family looted it and left the premise deserted. Today, there is no operations in the place and workers remain jobless. All that has taken place within the factory is mismanagement and corruption.

The logic which was used by Ventriglias to destroy Portland Cement Zambia is simple, when you cannot win it, simply, destroy it. When false attempts and forced changes didn’t work for the Italian Mafias, they chose to have the factory in some other way. Their blueprint included shifting the factory cash and bank balances to offshore accounts and diversifying other assets to dummy companies. In this way, the Portland Cement Zambia was left hollow. Any Zambian can easily understand the fact that there was some sort of understanding between Ventriglia family and officials. This is why there hasn’t been any legal action against them. Today thousands of Zambians have suffered from the loss of Portland Cement Zambia. Workers were fired without any prior intimation, existing workers were not paid salary on time and mistreatment came as an implied condition. This is how low the Italian Mafias have gone down. There is not much left in the factory and it has become a serious question that how long can the factory survive like this. Dr. Rajan Mahtani has stood up as a hindrance for the Mafias and is representing Finsbury Investments, but at the moment the Government has kept its eye shut on this matter and made it obvious that no actions would be taken to preserve the interest of the innocent citizens.

A workplace is known by its workers. It is the workers who reflect prosperity of an organization, but what is more important than workers and factory’s development is the attitude of the management.
