The Portland Cement Zambia Mafias, or more commonly known as the Ventriglia Family have launched a fresh attack on Dr. Rajan Mahtani by claiming that the name of Finsbury Investment is present in the Panama Papers. The news was circulated by Zambia Reports, a notorious news portal well-known for its contribution in defamation campaign. People who have working closely with Finsbury Investment and are aware of the conspirator’s nature claim that the attack came after the merger of Finance Bank Zambia and BancABC.

As per the publication of Zambia Reports, it has been claimed that Finsbury Investment has evaded taxes and Dr. Mahtani was seen visiting his legal advisor in respect of this matter. However, the truth is far from what is being portrayed here. The conspirators have framed a clever channel whereby they are showing an organization which shares the same name. Upon investigation, it was found that the organization named in the Panama Papers is owned by an entity named as Semely Conseil & Gestion SA. Moreover, the organization is no longer active and had been struck off on August 19 1999.

The event clearly indicates that the conspirators made a cheap attempt to defame Dr.  Rajan Mahtani and steal Portland Cement Zambia. Since Finsbury Investment is the legal owner of PCZ and Finance Bank Zambia is no longer a property of Dr. Rajan Mahtani, it has become evident that the conspirators will start defaming PCZ from now onward. Nevertheless, the Government is still keeping its eye close on this matter and continues to ignore the defamation campaign. Over the years, the Ventriglias have looted Portland Cement Zambia, dismissed workers from the factory on unacceptable grounds and stole the wealth of Zambia, but there is hardly anything that the Government has done to stop them. It appears that the conspirators have lost track of the real world as they continue to publish matters that are absurd and resembles foolishness. The latest publication from Zambia Reports suggests that Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been convicted of tax evasion and has been named under Panama Papers. To make things interesting they have also presented a reference where the name of Finsbury Investment has been mentioned.

Sadly, Sakwiab Sikota forgot to realize the fact that other details of the company are also mentioned in the paper. If one looks closely, he will easily find that the date of incorporation and date of inactivation has been mentioned. As per the Panama Papers, the company was formed by Semely Conseil & Gestion SA in 1996 and was also struck off from the list in August 1999, after being inactivated in October 1997. This clearly indicates that this mentioned company has nothing to do with Dr. Rajan Mahtani. Even if, one still doubts his involvement, they should go check with PACRA’s record where the name of Finsbury Investments is still present and as the majority shareholder of Zambezi Portland Cement.

The act by the conspirators has once again proved that they are nothing more than a bunch of people who have no moral values and can only contribute to nuisance. Their claims are as low as their thinking. Causing unnecessary harassment has become a habit for them and it is only for only few hours that they look forward to get attention with such senseless articles.

Zambia would have been a much better place had they not been present here. They have only contributed by mentally torturing the people and looting the wealth of the nation. Hopefully, things will change in the days to come. Till then, we all hope that this nuisance remains as less as possible.

People in Zambia have been constantly talking about the merger which was announced in 2015. Finally, the much awaited event has taken place and the Finance Bank of Zambia and BancABC are now one unit. The merger has been one of the grandest in Zambia as the resultant is in form of Zambia’s largest commercial bank. The accumulated assets now stand at a mammoth USD 567 million and the network of branches and ATMs now stands at 65 and 176, respectively.  The development clearly indicates the importance of development in Zambia with time. A person who was closely associated with this event says, “The merger will give Zambia a bigger financial support. Earlier, Finance Bank was restricted as it had limited capital to invest, but the merger has opened new possibilities for businesses as well as development plans.”

On the other hand, the conspirators have completely gone silent and they are now looking forward to get something new to push against Dr. Rajan Mahtani. They were in the opinion that the Finance Bank was having an illegal shareholding structure and it would now allow the merger to take place. But, the truth was soon revealed as the merger took place with ease. Over the years, there have been hundreds of claims made by the conspirators and every time Dr. Rajan Mahtani has wanted to do something for Africa, the conspirators always have an opinion to present. Nevertheless, the long awaited event has taken place and people who understand the value of development would certainly appreciate this step. BancABC is a subsidiary held by Atlas Mara and had been proposing this merger from a long time.

The man who has been continuously surrounded by events such as defamation and conspiracy has recently felt the irreplaceable loss of his mother, Mrs Mohnibhai Lekhraj Mahtani. In the past few years, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been troubled by funded defamation campaign by the Ventriglia family. There has been occasion where he was put behind the bars for reasons that were absurd. However, this personal loss overrides everything.

As per news, the mother of former Finance Bank Chairman, Mrs Mohnibhai Lekhraj Mahtani passed away in UK on 15^th June 2016. Ever since, the whole of Zambia has been mourning her loss and condolences from eminent personalities continue to come in. The First President of Zambia offered his condolences as under.

The life of Mrs. Mohnibhai Lekhraj Mahtani was lived with honor and dignity. Her contribution was always in respect of helping people and aiding them with basic necessities of life. May it be a charitable event or a common day; she was always willing to help people. She was an inspiration for many people in Zambia. Irrespective of her age, she never compromised on events and often enlightened everyone with her various experiences in life.

Some say that apart from being Dr. Rajan Mahtani’s mother, she was a mother to the whole nation. Everyone in Zambia respected her and looked up to her as a woman of immensely strong personality. No matter how big was a problem, she always motivated people to achieve big and get rid of the problem at the earliest.

Loss of mother means a lot to any person. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is also in grief over the loss. However, the still has a job to complete his mother’s dream to see a developed Zambia and happy citizens.

Over the years, it has been well understood that the Dr. Rajan Mahtani has become a victim of vicious conspiracy. Not only are a group of Italian Mafias trying to steal the Portland Cement Zambia from the clutches of Finsbury Investments, but domestic news portal such as Zambia Reports is also aiding the culprits to fulfill their objectives. The make things worse, on June 15 2016, Mrs. Mohnibhai Lekhraj Mahtani passed away. She was the mother of Dr. Rajan Mahtani.

It is known to all that the care of mother is always one of the most cherished feelings. Previously when the conspirators took the attack on him, the support of Mrs. Mahtani ensured that Dr. Mahtani stayed positive and continued to believe in the judicial system of Zambia. However, in absence of mother would now hurt Dr. Mahtani.

Apart from Dr. Mahtani, the whole of Zambia has mourned the death of Mrs Mohnibhai Lekhraj Mahtani. This is mainly because of the gentle nature and the love which she possessed for the people of Zambia. Her experience and advice has always helped people to overcome problems and stay positive in life.

The defamation campaign against Dr. Rajan Mahtani has slowed down in the past few months. But this does not mean that the conspirators have given up. They will continue to strike once in a while and something several times during a month to make their presence felt. Sadly, this time around Dr. Mahtani would be all alone to face this challenge. There has not been a single month where defamation campaign has been silent. Zambia Reports has constantly contributed to this campaign and proudly published maligned articles.

May the blessing of Mrs Mohnibhai Lekhraj Mahtani always remain with Dr. Rajan Mahtani and the rest of Zambia. May the evil, once again, lose to the power of truthfulness and honesty.

Ever since the Zambezi Portland Cement has been running under the management of Ital Terrazzo Limited, it has been obvious that neither the workers not the economy of Zambia have been benefitted from the same. There have been incidents where the workers have been dismissed on account of lack of work in the factory. Now to ascertain the truth, how can a factory have less work for its workers when in the past year it surpassed its existing forecasted output by almost 1,00,000 tonnes.

Going back to 2014, one can clearly see that Zambezi Portland Cement was one of the best performing industry in Zambia and had registered remarkable profits and surplus production. But within a matter of months, the factory was taken up by the Ventriglia family in their typical mafia style and since then, they have been controlling all the operations of the factory. During their management period, the factory ran into losses for the first time, the workers lost their jobs and now it is on the verge of being of shut down as the production has stopped from December 2015.

From the actions of the Ventriglia family, it is evident that they have not come in Zambia to develop their business or to run a profitable organization. They have simply come over here to loot the riches and go back to Italy where they run their own set of businesses. For long, they have been planning to exploit the resources of Zambia with a view to get personal gains, but it was only possible when entities like Zambia Reports started supporting them in return for some good cash. The end result is that the factory has hardly anything left in it and is on the verge of collapsing. The only questions that every resident of Ndola wants to know is when will Zambezi Portland Cement shut down permanently?

The scene at the Portland Cement Zambia is getting worse with every passing day. Not only have the conspirators found a convenient way of exploiting the resources of the cement factory, but they have also been able to take advantage of the confusion that prevails with respect to the ownership of the plant. In a proposal which was made by Finsbury Investments in May 2015, it was suggested to appoint a liquidator and dissolve the factory as its ownership was constantly a subject of conflict. Sadly, the whole proposal was ignored by the minorities, Ital Terrazzo Limited and the result of this impact was that on 19 May, 2016 the Court refused to appoint a liquidator.

Failing to appoint a liquidator implies that the Portland Cement Zambia would continue to be exploited by the minority shareholders, who at the moment are having full control over the management of the plant. They have also managed to leak out the assets of the factory through development of bogus companies such as Astrea Investment and Miloto Transport. The former currently holds the fabricated title deeds of the Portland Cement Zambia and the later holds about 43 trucks of the factory.

In respect of such conditions, it has become obvious that Dr. Mahtani & Zambia have been reduced to mere witness. All that they can do now is to hope for justice to prevail. Portland Cement Zambia had been a performer in 2014-15, but as soon as the factory was taken over by the Ventriglia family, the downfall began. As of today, the unit has no production facility and everything has been ruined including the workers and the infrastructure of the facility. The carnage at the Portland Cement Zambia is nothing, but the failure of the Government to respond to an emergency situation for the locals of Ndola.

In a claim which has been turned down by the Court on May 19, 2016 it has been learnt that the Honourable Judge Flavia Chishimba found the present condition of Portland Cement Zambia under dispute of ownership. As per her verdict, it was suggested that liquidation of PCZ is only possible where the ownership of the factory is decided and the decade long questions is finally answered.

Since 2008, Ital Terrazzo Limited has been busy claiming that Finsbury Investment stole 58% of the shares through forgery and the remaining 42% already belongs to them. The claim has already been settled in 2012 judgement where Lusaka High Court decided that the shareholding pattern was legitimate. Even PACRA has the same information stored in its register. Still, the concussion at the present date ensured that the liquidator is not appointed.

On the other hand, it is the Ventriglia family who has played games after games with the judicial system of Zambia. Recently they created nuermous bogus companies out of which Miloto Transport and Astrea Investments were two of the most prominent ones. Around 43 trucks from Portland Cement Zambia have been shifted to Miloto transport and the title deeds of the factory have been leased to Astrea Investments. The confidence of the Ventriglia family was such that they have confessed about the same in open as well.

The bottom line of this discussion is to give a thought to the range of events which goes around Zambia. On one hand, a company fails to secure the permission to appoint a liquidator, given all documents are authentic and on the other hand, there are people who are fearless about their actions and are claiming their illegal activities with pride. The Ventriglia family, or more commonly known as the Ndolan Mafias have once again made a comeback in the defamation campaign with the aid of Zambia Reports. According to the latest publication of ZR, they are celebrating a win as Court has refused to honor the appeal of Dr. Rajan Mahtani in respect of illegal takeover by the Ventriglia family in April. The article is as usual misleading and makes a desperate attempt to draw the attention of the audience.

There are certain things worth noticing in the publication. In the first place, it has been said that the Ventriglias shall continue to have control over the factory. Secondly, the writer once again cries about the forgery issue and thirdly, the article claims that Dr. Rajan Mahtani will not have control over Zambezi Portland Cement.

Now let’s take a look at those points independently. The first claim hardly matter as the factory has stopped its operations since December 2015. So what are the Ventriglias operating at the moment? In the second place, the writer has continued with his habit of making claims that have already been settled and decided by the Court in the past. And the last claim is the worst of all. Dr. Rajan Mahtani has never controlled Zambezi Portland Cement factory. It is Finsbury Investments who has been controlling the affairs in the factory and Dr. Mahtani is just a part of it.

The authors of Zambia Reports have lost their sanity and morals infront of the cash which is being offered by the Ventriglias. They have clearly missed the line and have simply created a PR article which looks forward to defame Dr. Rajan Mahtani. On one hand, the Italian Mafias are looting the resource of the nation and on the other hand, there are some people who are helping these Mafias to drown their own brothers.
